Fire generator, 2019
Simulation, Interactive
The flame generator for LED cubes generated only the shape and brightness (0-255) of the flame. The brightness is determined by the calculated temperature value, converted to a value between 0 and 255, and transmitted as the brightness value of the LED. However, when using values between 0 and 255 on a computer screen, there was a limit to expressing the shape of a flame realistically.
By adding functions to the existing simulator, the color change of the flame by black body radiation was implemented to effectively display the fire on the screen. In addition to the setting of the fuel zone and ignition point, the characteristics of the flame animation can be changed by adjusting certain constant values when creating a flame. A total of four types of flames were created: candle, torch, bonfire, and chaos.
